Gender-based Violence Fact Sheet

Published

Since its founding in 1989, the Women’s Refugee Commission has worked to bring attention to gender-based violence (GBV) issues in humanitarian crises, with a particular focus on refugees and internally displaced persons in both camps and urban settings.

We collaborate with UN agencies, NGOs, donors and governments to help improve response to GBV and, critically, to prevent it. We consult closely with displaced persons at every phase of our research and advocacy to ensure that we are proposing solutions that best address their needs.
