Collective Statement on Priority Areas to Protect the Rights of and Ensure Well-Being for LGBTQ+ Migrants in Mexico
PublishedDeveloped through a collaborative effort involving 20+ experts from 10 prominent organizations, this collective statement outlines the current needs for priority interventions to improve the lives of LGBTQ+ migrants in Mexico. All experts participated in a convening in Guadalajara, Mexico convened by WRC and the Brown School for social work and public health at Washington University in St. Louis in June 2024. The document addresses ongoing challenges such as social marginalization, discrimination, and violence faced by LGBTQ+ migrants in their home countries and throughout their migration journey, highlighting the highest priority needs for protecting their rights, as well as attending to their physical and mental health.
