WEBINAR: Strengthening GBV Prevention & Response in Urban Humanitarian Settingsrban Humanitarian Settingsing GBV Prevention & Response in Urban Humanitarian Settings

Nearly 60 percent of the world’s refugees today reside in cities, yet risk-reduction models still often derive from traditional camp settings, leaving those in cities vulnerable to a host of new risks without proper support—including risks of gender-based violence (GBV). How can humanitarians better reach GBV survivors in cities? Which GBV risk-mitigation strategies will actually work in cities?

This webinar highlights learning from the Women’s Refugee Commission’s research and pilot interventions in diverse urban contexts: Beirut, Kampala, Quito and Delhi. It will also review examples of GBV risk mitigation strategies tailored for at-risk urban refugees, including adolescent girls, LGBTI refugees, and refugees engaged in sex work.
