Liv Ullmann

Liv Ullmann is co-founder and honorary chair of the Women’s Refugee Commission. She was the first woman to serve as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador.

She was awarded a 2022 Governors Award by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (Oscars) for lifetime achievement. She has won and been nominated for numerous other awards, including two Academy Awards nominations for best actress and five Golden Globe best actress nominations, including one win. Her collaboration with Ingmar Bergman lasted for more than 40 years.

Originally a stage actress, Liv has played many of the great classic women’s roles in Norway, on Broadway, in London’s West End, and in Australia.

Liv has also had a successful directing career. Her films include Faithless and Miss Julie, starring Jessica Chastain and Colin Farrell. In 2009, she directed A Streetcar Named Desire, featuring Cate Blanchett in the lead role; the play ran in Sydney, Washington, and Brooklyn.

Liv is also the author of two books, Changing and Choices, which have been printed in more than 25 languages.

Alexandra Arriaga

Alexandra Arriaga is founder and managing partner at Strategy for Humanity LLC, a woman-, minority- and person with disabilities-owned firm that works with mission-driven organizations and those who fund them. The firm works with clients to develop effective strategies, conduct smart advocacy and analysis, and achieve meaningful results.

Previously, she led government relations, policy, and advocacy at Amnesty International USA and during her tenure The Hill recognized AIUSA as a top human rights lobby in Washington. Earlier in her career, Alexandra served as Special Assistant to President William J. Clinton and chief of staff to Buddy McKay, the President’s Special Envoy for the Americas. Prior to the White House, she was appointed senior adviser in the Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights and Labor at the US Department of State where she was US Delegate to the United Nations Commission on Human Rights (twice), served on the Department’s Bosnia Task Force, and was Executive Director of the Secretary of State’s Advisory Committee on Religious Freedom Abroad. She began her career in the US House of Representatives as director of the bipartisan Congressional Human Rights Caucus.

Alexandra has received many awards and serves in leadership capacities for organizations focused on global human rights, education, and disability rights.
