For Sponsors Using a Donor Advised Fund (DAF)
DAFs may be used for the non-ticket portion of the sponsorship. Tickets must be purchased by personal check or credit card. Please see the below example for guidance:
Joan Smith sponsors a table at the $10,000 Advocate level, using both a personal check of $5,000 and a DAF recommended grant of $5,000. The $5,000 check covers the attendance of herself and nine more guests at $500 x 10 tickets. $2,500 of that purchase is tax-deductible, and $2,500 of the purchase covers the fair market value of the tickets. The $5,000 DAF donation covers the remaining portion of the Advocate sponsorship.
