Women's Refugee Commission Mourns Death of Robin Fray Carey
The board and staff of the Women's Refugee Commission expressed their great sadness today on the news of the death of Robin Fray Carey. Carey was co-chair of the board of the Women's Refugee Commission from 2010 to 2013; she joined the board in 2005.
“Robin Fray Carey was a true champion of refugee women and children,” said Sarah Costa, executive director of the Women's Refugee Commission. “She played a key leadership role during a time of rapid growth at the organization, and provided valuable guidance in the development of the WRC’s social media.”
Carey founded Social Media Today LLC, a media company that brings together many of the world’s best thinkers about business and policy topics, in 2007. Prior to that, she ran her own media consulting company for 16 years, and worked with Time Inc, Newsweek, BusinessWeek and Ziff-Davis.
She was a member of the Overseers of the International Rescue Committee.
