‘I want people to smile’: Legendary musician Graham Nash to perform at Englert Theatre in Iowa City

Legendary singer-songwriter Graham Nash is performing at the Englert Theatre in Iowa City on Tuesday, bringing a repertoire of music that spans over five decades.

The two-time Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee is known as a founding member in the English rock and pop group the Hollies, plus the folk-rock group Crosby, Stills & Nash, which was later briefly joined by Neil Young.

“Teach Your Children,” “Our House” and “Just a Song Before I Go” are just a few of the many hit songs penned by Nash.

He told the Press-Citizen he understands his responsibility to play some of the music audiences want to hear during Tuesday’s “An Intimate Evening of Songs and Stories with Graham Nash” concert.

“I’ve changed my entire beginning of my show to reflect what’s going on in the world,” he said. “I’ve started on a very, dark somber note. Purely because of my belief that what’s happening in Ukraine is incredibly wrong.”
