Resource Hub of the Integrating the Response to Child Marriage in East Africa Initiative

Published

The “Child Marriage in Humanitarian Settings: Integrating the Response to Child Marriage” Resource Hub is a collection of briefings and reports that shares key learnings and insights from the initiative’s participatory action research and advocacy. This resource hub contributes to the evidence base on how to best to enhance coordination and collaboration between feminist and women-led civil society organizations, experts, practitioners and humanitarian actors to expedite progress towards ending child marriage and supporting girls who have experienced child marriage within and across the humanitarian system in East Africa.

Began in 2021, the initiative engages feminist and women’s rights organizations based in the region to identify key aspects of programming that support or hinder positive health outcomes for adolescent girls. The initiative works in partnership with these feminist thought leaders to refine key priorities to address gaps in practice and evolve advocacy goals to influence regional and national humanitarian responses and policies to combat child marriage and support girls who have experienced child marriage in forcibly displaced and crisis-affected communities in East Africa.
