Joint Statement on Beijing +30 Delivered to the 58th Session of the UN Human Rights Council

Published

The year 2025 marks 30 years since the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action was unanimously adopted, firmly declaring that women’s rights, as human rights, include the right to have control over and decide freely on their sexuality, including sexual and reproductive health.

Despite progress, the promises made to women and girls in all their diversity at Beijing remain a distant dream for many. Current estimates suggest that by 2030, the world will be less gender-equal than 2015.

The Women’s Refugee Commission joined 114 organizations, led by Women Deliver, in delivering this statement to the 58th session of the UN Human Rights Council, urging members to protect and fulfill the human rights of all women and girls.
