IASC Task Force SAFE

This training will help individuals use the tools—Matrix and Decision Tree Diagram—developed by the Inter-Agency Standing Committee (IASC) Task Force on Safe Access to Firewood and alternative Energy (SAFE) to determine safe and appropriate means of meeting cooking fuel needs under difficult circumstances.

Intended audiences for this online guide are all those who have received or are interested in using the SAFE tools but were not able to attend the IASC Task Force SAFE workshops in person, including:

  • United Nations headquarters and field-based staff
  • Humanitarian agency staff
  • Donors
  • Governments and other institutions

Preventing Gender-based Violence, Building Livelihoods

The Women’s Refugee Commission has developed an e-learning tool to help practitioners, policymakers and donors gain a better understanding of how to lessen the risk of gender-based violence through safe and effective livelihood interventions. After the completion of the course, participants will:

  • Understand the links between gender-based violence and livelihoods
  • Learn approaches to reduce the risk of gender-based violence
  • Understand how to develop safe and effective livelihoods programs for displaced people
