COVID-19, an Obstacle to Reversing Trump Rules against Immigrants

On Dec. 14, 2020, immigrant advocates anticipated that the coronavirus pandemic will become an obstacle for President-elect Joe Biden’s administration to roll back some of the regulations President Donald Trump imposed on immigrants amid the health emergency.

Tatiana Brofft, consultant for regional issues for the Women’s Refugee Commission, highlighted that the inadequate relationship between the pandemic, requests for political asylum and border security represents a complicated situation for the new administration to repeal this regulation.
